Expat Families in Ghent Welcomed With New Year Drink Events No Update by Guest author - 4 February, 201721 October, 2021 Community Gent organised a New Year’s reception to welcome expat families in Ghent on Saturday the 28th January 2017 at the STAM – Ghent City Museum. The new logo of TheSquare.Gent was revealed and a tombola was organised at the event. Here is a collection of pictures from the event captured by Natasa Ahacic. Can you spot yourself or someone you know? Expat families in Ghent gathered at the museum to toast the New Year. 170+ people attended, of which 50 were children. Welcoming speeches Christine De Weerdt welcomes the international community of Ghent residents to the STAM museum and invites everyone to visit the ongoing Dragon exhibition Jenny Bjorklof, president of Community Gent’s expat working group wishes a happy 2017 to everyone. Nina Jere, editor of TheSquare.Gent, kicking of the tombola International Children Emma Lawrence and the parenting group Gentse Spruiten helped with dragon related arts and crafts, and pupils of the International School of Ghent did storytelling as entertainment for the children.
