Freight operators

One option is to contact freight operators directly. The upside of doing this is that you deal with them directly without the involvement of a  third party. However you are likely to get a cheaper price from a parcel broker because they have more buying power. Here are some examples of freight operators and couriers: DHL, TNT, DPD and FedEx.

Only for smaller packages

B-post or PostNL. Do note that they have many bad reviews on Trustpilot, mentioning mostly a lack of customer service and failed deliveries.

Suitcases – is especially relevant for the people wanting to send luggage around the world

Outside Europe

Currency changes and customs need to be taken into account when sending parcels from Belgium to a destination outside Europe. Most freight operators mentioned in the previous section offer international shipping. There are also parcel brokers who will send your package further than Europe. Some examples are Parcelhero, Parcelmonkey & Parcel2go.

Parcelhero has an easy-to-read blog post about sending items to the U.S.

    1. Hi James! Thank you for the comment. The article is written by myself. It showcases Eurosender who is indeed sponsoring The Square.Gent. This is disclosed in the article. I also mention other options available for sending packages to provide the most value for our readers.

  1. Do yoy not have any scruples taking money from a company that has ripped so many people off? Really terrible and I hope you will write a more honest post than this as you are just encouraging your loyal readers to be scammed, for money.

    1. Hello Gillian,

Thank you for your comment. I’m sorry to hear it seems you’ve had a bad experience with Eurosender.

When choosing our partners we want to assure they have a product or service our readers would potentially use.

We have not personally experienced any issues with Eurosender, but checked reviews before signing them as sponsors for our magazine. That is also why we state “To avoid potential disappointments we advise you to read the refund policy. And allow time for the delivery. Pickup and delivery times are approximate.” in our post. We also present other options by mentioning other similar providers.

If you have further concerns, please contact Eurosender directly, or us via email

      Best regards
